Joia Hairston, the founder of Horizon Preparatory Academy, is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in early childhood development, youth development, and education. A former educator, foster parent, children's book author, military staff member, and mother of three boys, Joia embodies a philosophy that is both innovative and deeply nurturing. She holds a master’s degree in special education and educational psychology, which equips her with the necessary skills and knowledge to create educational environments that cater to the individual needs of each child. Her approach emphasizes holistic development, community engagement, and advocacy, ensuring that all children have the opportunity to achieve academic success and personal growth. Joia's leadership at Horizon Preparatory Academy reflects her dedication to providing a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for children and their families.
